Project 26 {week 3} Me and Mine | Danville CA Child and Family Photographer

Happy February!

With everything going on in everyone’s life you may not remember all the details of my new project (shocking) so here’s a recap for you.  I have started a project 26 this year with a group of incredibly talented woman – 14 to be exact- from across the United States.  The 26 week project will consist of two blog posts each month, one will be a “me & mine” post and the second will be a challenge or theme photo. This month’s “me and mine” post was completed in 4 shots because that’s all my family would give me.  How interesting that with in two months of me starting this project my family has presented me with “stipulations.”  The first demand was just like that old show “Name That Tune.”  I had to be able to complete this session in 4 shots, they did not have to get out of their pajamas and the dog had to be in the picture.  Seriously, the only ones not complaining (or demanding) were Carl and the dog, Lola.  And it was the dog who planted herself on the steps and would not move…maybe it was just a good case of the “fat and happys” but what ever it was she wasn’t moving.  So this is where we all ended up.  Wouldn’t have been my first choice but I really wasn’t in any place to be making demands.  This family portrait is special because it will be the very last portrait of Katie without braces for the next 3 years.  The braces and my money went on her teeth yesterday.  It’s also special because it was the first time my kids told me I had a neck like a football player and that Lola looks like a beached seal.  Had they given me more than 4 shots I am sure I could made Lola look a little less full figured  :)    This was actually picture #3 of our session.

This is, as Jules said, darling. I love the story that goes along with it. And man, I hope I don’t get the four shot rule when my kids get older!

Can I just tell you how impressed I am that this is shot #3??? Such a wonderful family portrait including the dog! Love it!!!

HA! okay, so when you get the interval timer worked out, too bad for their “four shot” stipulation, because you can shoot off 44 shots in the time it takes to set up 4 manually! Beat that kids :)

I love the stairs actually, because it’s truly a part of ‘home’ and I get such a sense of the ‘natural’ that is adorable. Although I wouldn’t call seal girl ‘full figured’ lol. I’m kinda totally diggin’ on the whole image, I can only imagine you all looking back in 10 years and laughing hysterically – and smiling at the wonderful memories you all make together.
