Project 26 {week 5} Me and Mine | Danville CA Child and Family Photographer

Happy March!

I have started a project 26 this year with a group of incredibly talented woman – 13 to be exact- from across the United States.  This 26 week project will consist of two blog posts each month, one will be a “me & mine” post and the second will be a challenge or theme photo.

My family owes a ton of thanks and gratititude to my new best friend Gail Pomare of Aroha Photography.  She doesn’t know she is my new best friend but she is…she blogged about the interval timer on her Nikon and boy did it change my life for the better.  On our way to church Sunday morning, much to my kid’s surprise, we pulled over and I set the camera up on a tripod and went through the steps for the interval time, manual in hand.  It was a piece of cake and so much more fun than me running back and forth!  Now, next month I will be a little bit smarter when I do this again.  It was hard keeping everyone on the same focal plane.   After a bunch of out of focus shots I ended up drawing a line in the dirt and then marked it with a stick. Told my kids they can move, turn twist, do anything they want but they can’t go off the line.  You can see how well we stuck to it by checking out the stick to the left of Carl’s legs.  We are way ahead of the stick but just enough to stay in focus luckily.

I’m also trying out a different style of editing today.  I learned this technique from my brilliant friend Damien who is all the way over in Australia and I wanted to give it a try for today’s post.  I actually really like it…..kind of a heavenly feel to the picture and since we were on our way to church….why not.  Here’s my Me & Mine for the month of March.  Hope you like it.
